Vintage Roses Tag

 

‘Roses, June & Joy’ is this month’s theme for my tag swap as part of a local craft group. I’m adoring the vintage vibe of this little creation using a wide range of Tim Holtz idea-ology that has been languishing in my crafty stash. I don’t know why I’ve not had the confidence to start using it all before now.

I started by taking a white Dina Wakley tag and layered it with a couple of large collage strips. This was trimmed and edged with ‘Vintage Photo’ distress ink before being splattered with ‘Frayed Burlap’ and ‘Salvaged Patina’ Distress Spritz spray and some white ink. This provided the background for the tag.

To add interest, I started to layer various idea-ology elements. This included one of the collage photo snaps by placing it in a montage layer frame. The rose came from the Botanical layers collection whilst, a couple of field notes add more interest. Finally, a labels quote chip provides a motivational message.

The tag was completed by adding a vintage ribbon, a few sequins and gems.

Something really different for me – next up I’ll try a card using the same techniques.
