Brighter Days & Wildflowers Card

 

August has me dreaming of brighter days ahead and what a perfect way to capture that than the latest ‘Love of Nature’ collection from Visible Image. For another sample for this latest release I’ve used the new ‘Brighter Days’ stamp set and ‘Wildflowers’ stencil.

To begin, I took a white piece of card and sprayed it with ‘Kitsch Flamingo’, ‘Picked Raspberry’ and ‘Wilted Violet’ distress spray stains. Some water droplets were sprinkled over the top to add some interest to the background.

Next up, some of the elements from the ‘Brighter Days’ stamp set were stamped onto the background using ‘Wilted Violet’ and ‘Picked Raspberry’ distress ink. After drying with a heat gun I placed the ‘Wildflowers’ stencil over the top and smoothed some distress opaque grit paste was smoothed through it.

Whilst that dried, the dragonflies from the same stamp set were stamped onto another piece of white card using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink before heat embossing with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. These were fussy cut out and coloured in with ‘Wilted Violet’ and ‘Picked Raspberry’ distress ink and a bit of wink of stella glitter pen.

The sentiments from the ‘Brighter Days’ stamp set were stamped onto some black card using Versamark and heat embossed with Wow superfine opaque bright white embossing powder before being fussy cut out.

Finally, the background was added to some black card and a white card blank. The dragonflies and sentiments were added to the card using acrylic glue and 3D mounts. Some sparkly gems were also glued to the background for added interest.
