Catch a Star Tag

 

Did you catch Mark on Hobbymaker earlier this week with the fantastic new ‘Hopes and Dreams’ collection? These new stamps are so versatile. I love the strong silhouette images and all the little magical elements. For my Visible Image DT make this week I’ve used the amazing ‘Catch a Star’ stamp set to create a little craft tag that’ll be a perfect encouragement for someone special.

Background

• Spray a white card tag with ‘Picked Raspberry’ and ‘Ripe Persimmon’ Distress Spray Stain & disperse the ink with some water.

• After stamping the main images - stamp the star cluster from the ‘Catch a Star’ stamp set all over the tag using ‘Picked Raspberry’ and ‘Ripe Persimmon’ Distress ink.

• Edge the background with the same Distress inks.
• Splatter the background with ‘Fossilized Amber’ Distress Spritz Spray and white ink.

Focal Elements

• Stamp the figures and butterflies from the ‘Catch a Star’ stamp set onto the background with Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink and heat emboss with Wow regular clear gloss embossing powder.

• Stamp the stars from the same set onto the tag using Versamark and heat emboss with Wow superfine metallic gold rich embossing powder.

Sentiment

• Stamp the sentiment from the ‘Catch a Star’ stamp set onto some black card using Versamark. Heat emboss with Wow superfine opaque bright white embossing powder. Fussy cut out.

Completion

• Mount the tag onto a piece of black card. Add the sentiment using acrylic glue plus a few very small sparkly gems for added interest.
• Add a bright coloured ribbon to finish the tag.

Top Tip: Ground the stamped figures by using a deeper blended shade of Distress ink.
