Carefree Days

 

Whilst making this DT sample we’ve been blessed here in the UK with some amazing hot and sunny weather – although a bit too warm for crafting! I am loving this brilliant new release from Visible Image - it's so gorgeous! I think my favourite is the ‘Carefree Days’ stamp set - part of the beautiful ‘Hopes and Dreams’ collection out now!

Background

• Spray a white piece of card with ‘Picked Raspberry’ and ‘Tumbled Glass’ Distress Spray Stain. Add a little ‘Salty Ocean’ distress ink using a stamping block spritzed with water.
• Edge the background with ‘Salty Ocean’ and ‘Picked Raspberry’ Distress ink.
• Splatter the background with ‘Picked Raspberry’ Distress Spritz Spray and white ink.

Stamped Images

• Stamp the tree branch from the ‘Carefree Days’ stamp set 4 times in the top left of the background using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink and heat emboss with Wow regular clear gloss embossing powder.
• Stamp the swing stamp from the same stamp set onto the background in the same way so it looks attached to the tree branch.
• Take the dandelion stamps and stamp them randomly at the bottom of the background using ‘Seedless Preserves’ Distress ink. Repeat using Versamark and heat emboss with Wow superfine opaque bright white embossing powder.
• Use the tree branch stamp to add further interest to the bottom of the card using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink.

Sentiment

• Stamp the sentiment from the ‘Carefree Days’ stamp set onto some black card using Versamark. Heat emboss with Wow superfine opaque bright white embossing powder. Fussy cut out.

Completion

• Mount the background onto a piece of black card and a white card blank. Add the sentiment using 3D foam mounts plus a few water droplet sparkly gems.
• Use a white gel pen to add some highlights to the tree branches and swing.

This stamp set is perfect for friendship and greetings cards this Summer. I can see it being a firm favourite for quite some time.

Top Tip: Cover the focal image with a mask or torn paper when spraying additional inks over the background.
