Rise and Shine

 

Summer will soon be here in the UK and I can’t wait for beach days and long walks in the midday sun. This inspired my DT make this week using the ‘Rise and Shine’ stamp set and ‘Strobes’ stencil all available from Visible Image.

Background

• Spray ‘Tumbled Glass’ Distress Spray Stain onto a round die cut piece of white card. Dry with a heat gun.

• Place the ‘Strobes’ stencil over the top of the inked background and blend ‘Salty Ocean’ distress ink through it.

• Stamp the bubbles from the ‘Rise and Shine’ stamp set onto the background using Versamark and heat emboss with Wow superfine opaque bright white embossing powder. Repeat with ‘Salty Ocean’ distress ink.

• Splatter the background with ‘Tumbled Glass’ Distress Spritz Spray and white ink.

Focal Element

• Stamp the sun from the ‘Rise and Shine’ stamp set onto white card with Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink and heat emboss with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. Fussy cut out.

• Colour the sun using ‘Mustard Seed’, ‘Spiced Marmalade’ and ‘Worn Lipstick’ distress ink.

• Add some white gel pen and wink of stella pen for some sparkle.

Sentiment

• Stamp the sentiment onto some black card using Versamark. Heat emboss with Wow superfine opaque bright white embossing powder.

Completion

• Mount the background onto a round piece of black card and a circle easel white linen card blank. Add the sun and sentiment using 3D foam mounts plus a few small water droplets for added interest.

This is such a happy card and a ‘pick-me-up’ reminder that the sun is just hiding behind the clouds.

Top Tip: Use different depths of 3D mounts to create layered interest on your cards.
