Brighter Days Greetings Card

 

Are you going through a difficult time, a time of change or know someone who is? This card idea is for you. ‘Embrace change with strength and grace’ is the absolutely perfect sentiment for this card - taken from the ‘Brighter Days’ set alongside some subtle background stamping using the ‘Spiralling’ stamp set. All available from Visible Image.

Background

• Spray ‘Twisted Citron’, ‘Tumbled Glass’ and ‘Squeezed Lemonade’ Distress Spray Stain onto some white card. Add a splattering of water to create water droplets. Dry with a heat gun.

• Using Versafine Clair ‘Bali Blue’ and ‘Verdant’ stamp the main ‘Spiralling’ image and one of the circles onto the background.

• Stamp the bubbles from the ‘Brighter Days’ stamp set onto the background using Versamark and heat emboss with Wow superfine opaque bright white embossing powder.

• Stamp the sentiment onto the card background using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink and heat emboss with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder.

• Stamp the smallest dragonfly from the same set onto the background in the same way.
• Add a little more background stamping using the ‘Brighter Days’ sentiment and ‘Tumbled Glass’ Distress Ink.

• Spritz the background with ‘Squeezed Lemonade’ Distress Spritz Spray and some white ink.

Dragonflies

• Stamp the dragonflies from the ‘Brighter Days’ stamp set onto white card with Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink and heat emboss with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. Fussy cut out.

• Colour the dragonflies with a little wink of stella glitter pen.

Completion

• Mount the background onto some black card and a white card blank. Add the dragonflies using 3D foam mounts plus a few small water droplets for added dimension.

I love the pastel but bright vibes of this card – this sets off the dragonflies perfectly. I hope you agree.

Top Tip: Edge the dragonflies with a black pen.
