Umbrella Man Tag

 

The grey clouds have cleared and I’m hoping we’ll no longer have any bad weather days! With that in mind I thought I’d share the tag I made for a recent ‘April Showers’ themed swap. I’ve used my ‘Umbrella Man’ wooden block stamp from Stampers Anonymous as well as a few other Tim Holtz goodies.

I started by taking a white Dina Wakley tag and sprayed it with ‘Tumbled Glass’ and ‘Salty Ocean’ distress spray stains. A few splatters of water followed. The background was then stamped with an element from the ‘Paris Memoir’ collection using ‘Chipped Sapphire’ distress ink. The tag was then edged in the same colour.

Up next, the ‘Umbrella Man’ was stamped onto the background using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink before heat embossing with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. Some of the ‘Mini Bouquet’ stamps were added to the edges of the tag for additional interest.

The ‘Stripes’ stencil was placed over the top and some distress sparkle paste smoothed through it. When dry, some white ink and ‘Tumbled Glass’ distress spritz spray were added for interest.

Finally, the tag was mounted onto some black and white hammered card. The idea-ology clippings, water droplet gems and ribbon give the final touch.

A moody tag but with a bit of sparkle for this rainy month I hope you agree?
