Daisy Days Birthday Card

 

Spring has bloomed and so has the amount of birthdays! I love the ‘Daisy Days’ set from the ‘Grunge Florals’ collection by Visible Image. Its girly but grungy & a perfect choice for creating spring makes! For this birthday card I’ve also teamed up this stamp set with the sentiment from the ‘Blooming Fabulous’ stamp set.

Background

• Apply ‘Tumbled Glass’, ‘Salty Ocean’ and ‘Peacock Feathers’ to a stamping block, spritz with water and dab all across some white card. Allow to dry.
• Stamp the circles from the ‘Daisy Days’ set all around the edge of the card using ‘Peacock Feathers’ distress ink. Colour in with a wink of stella glitter pen.
• Stamp the small text/numbers from the same set onto the background using ‘Salty Ocean’ distress ink
• Spritz with white ink and ‘Salty Ocean’ and distress spritz spray.
• Blend around the edges of the card with the same colours as the background in distress inks.

Focal Image & Sentiment

• Stamp the daisy from the ‘Daisy Days’ stamp set onto another piece of white card using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink. Heat emboss with Wow superfine clear embossing powder and fussy cut out. Colour in with ‘Squeezed Lemonade’ and ‘Saltwater Taffy’ distress ink. Cover with Versamark and heat emboss with Ranger Ultra Thick clear embossing powder – oh so shiny results with that!
• Stamp the sentiment from the ‘Blooming Fabulous’ stamp set onto white card using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink. Heat emboss with Wow superfine clear embossing powder and fussy cut out. Edge with ‘Salvaged Patina’ distress ink. Mount onto black card.

Completion

• Mount the background onto some black and white card plus a white card blank. Add the daisy and sentiment using 3D foam mounts plus a few small sparkly gems for interest.

I had great fun making this birthday card – I really hope my crafty friend likes it!

Top Tip: Use a combination of distress inks and oxides to add a different effect to your card backgrounds.
