Snarky Valentine's Day Tag

 

Happy Valentine’s Day! Whatever you have planned today I hope you feel loved.

Here’s a little tag I made for a tag swap on the theme of ‘Love and Lace’. I don’t have any lace but a little crochet trim counts right? I couldn’t resist using an unseasonal Snarky cat alongside some other fabulous Tim Holtz joy!

I started by taking a white Dina Wakley tag and smooshed it into some ‘Lumberjack Plaid’ distress ink. I then splattered it with water and left it to dry before stencilling and stamping over the top with the doily stencil (THS018) & text element of the @stampersanonymous ‘Flower Shop’ stamp set.

The hearts stencil (THS017) was up next – some distress opaque grit paste was blended through it to add a bit of texture to the tag. A little ‘Vintage Photo’ distress ink was then used to age the tag.

Up next, Snarky cat from the Halloween collection was stamped out onto some white card using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink and heat embossed using Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. This was fussy cut out and coloured in with watercolour pencils.

Finally, the tag was mounted onto some black and white hammered card. Snarky cat, some sparkly gems, distress spritz spray, @Sizzix hearts, idea-ology greeting and crochet trim were added to finish the tag with a flourish.
