Daisy Days

Spring will soon be here – yay! In the meantime, we can now say hello to the brand new ‘Grunge Florals’ collection from Visible Image. I adore this new ‘Daisy Dreams’ stamp set with it’s delicate petals but grungy charm. For my second sample I’ve teamed up this new stamp set with the fantastic new ‘Grunge Greetings’ stamp set and ‘Rotation’ stencil.

Up first, I took a white piece of card and sprayed it with ‘Picked Raspberry’ and ‘Kitsch Flamingo’ distress spray stains. After this had dried, I stamped the bubbles and circle from the ‘Daisy Days’ stamp set onto the background using Versafine Clair ‘Charming Pink’ ink.

The ‘Rotation Stencil’ was then placed over the top of the background and distress opaque grit paste smoothed through it before putting to one side.

For the focal image I took another piece of white card and stamped the daisy from the ‘Daisy Days’ stamp set onto it using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink before heat embossing with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. This was fussy cut out and the centre coloured in with a Zig pink color brush pen. The whole daisy was then covered with Versamark and heat embossed with Wow Disco Ball embossing powder.

For the sentiment - this was stamped onto some white card using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink before being heat embossed with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder and fussy cut out. The hearts were stamped using Versafine Clair ‘Baby Pink’ ink and heat embossed in the same way also before being fussy cut out.

Finally, the background was mounted onto some black card and a white card blank. The daisy, hearts and sentiments were layered onto the card using 3D mounts and acrylic glue before some sequins and gems were added for that touch of sparkle.

I love the girly-grunge feel to this card and I know I’ll be making more as the Spring approaches.

Top Tip: Use different shades of the same colour for your card backgrounds.
