One Kind Word

 

New Year - New Job? Or, do you know someone who’s changing things up in 2026? Here’s a little card inspiration for those special makes. My DT challenge this week was also to make it vibrant! So, here’s my card using the fabulous ‘One Kind Word’ & ‘Background Vision’ stamp sets as well as the amazing ‘Colour Blind' stencil. All available from Visible Image.

Up first, I took a white piece of card and sprayed it with ‘Dried Marigold’ and ‘Picked Raspberry’ distress spray stains. Wow what a colour fiesta! A few water splatters followed before heat drying with a heat gun. The alphabet element from the ‘Background Vision’ stamp set was then stamped onto the background using ‘Carved Pumpkin’ and ‘Picked Raspberry’ distress ink. I love how this seamlessly blends into the sprayed background.

Once dried, the ‘Colour Blind’ stencil was placed over the background and distress sparkle transparent texture paste smoothed through it. Some Distress rock candy was sprinkled over the top – this adheres to the texture paste really well. Any extra glitter was shaken off before leaving the background to dry.

For the typewriter and sentiment from the ‘One Kind Word’ stamp set – these were stamped onto white card using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink and heat embossed with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. After fussy cutting out the sentiment was edged with ‘Picked Raspberry’ distress ink and glued to some black card.

Finally, the background was mounted onto some black card and a white card blank. The typewriter and sentiment were added using 3D mounts and acrylic glue. A few hearts from the ‘One Kind Word’ set stamped in the same distress inks were also added to the background.

I love the pop of colour & sparkle on this creation. I don’t normally leave white space but I really think it works. I’ll try that again soon!

Top Tip: Sprinkle glitters (or embossing powders) onto texture paste before it dries for that extra pizazz!
