Blooming Fabulous - Friendship Card
Friends are so important. They lift you up when you are down and share in all of life’s fun and frivolity! This week I made a little card for a dear friend who is going through a tough time. I hope it cheered up their soul just a little bit. The ‘Blooming Fabulous’ set is magnificent – I love it. For my Visible Image creation I teamed it up with the ‘A Friend Like You’ stamp set alongside the ‘Atmospheric’ stencil.
To start, I took a piece of white card and sprayed it with ‘Kitsch Flamingo’, ‘Shaded Lilac’ and ‘Seedless Preserves’ distress spray stain before splattering with water. After leaving to dry naturally I stamped the words from the ‘Blooming Fabulous’ stamp set onto the background using ‘Seedless Preserves’ distress ink. The bloom was then stamped onto the background using Versamark before heat embossing it with Wow superfine metallic gold rich embossing powder. The ‘Atmospheric’ stencil was placed over the top of the background in random places and either ‘Seedless Preserves’ distress ink or distress opaque grit paste smoothed through it. Once this dried some ‘Fossilized Amber’ distress spritz spray and white Posca paint splatters were added to the background.
Up next, two blooms from the ‘Blooming Fabulous’ stamp set were stamped onto a separate piece of white card using Versamark and heat embossed with Wow superfine metallic gold rich embossing powder. Both were fussy cut out before one was sprayed with ‘Seedless Preserves’ distress spray stain and the same colour in the distress spritz spray.
The sentiment from the ‘A Friend Like You’ was then stamped onto some white card using Versafine Clair ‘Hawthorn Rose’ ink. This was heat embossed with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder before being fussy cut out and mounted onto black card.
Finally, the background was mounted onto white hammered card, black card and a white card blank. The blooms and sentiment were stuck to the card using some 3D mounts and acrylic glue. A few sparkly gems were added for additional glitz for that final flourish.
Top Tip: Polish the embossing using a slightly damp piece of cloth to make it shine.
