Take Flight

 

Have you checked out the new ‘Time to Fly’ release from Visible Image yet? It’s a perfect blend of positive affirmations alongside Mark’s original grungy style images. I just love this new ‘Take Flight’ stamp set with the flighty and almost whimsical feathers. For my DT make this week I’ve teamed up this new stamp set with the brand new ‘Fingerprint’ stencil.

Up first I took a white piece of card and sprayed it with ‘Tumbled Glass’, ‘Salvaged Patina’, ‘Peacock Feathers’ and ‘Speckled Egg’ distress spray stain. 

I put the ‘Fingerprint’ stencil over the top and blended distress sparkle texture paste through it before leaving it to dry. (Some Posca white paint splatter and ‘Uncharted Mariner’ distress spritz spray were added over the top later on.) Some ‘Uncharted Mariner’ distress ink was then blended around the edges of the background.

Secondly, I grabbed a bigger piece of white card and stamped 3 of the feathers from the ‘Take Flight’ stamp set onto it using Versafine Clair ‘Warm Breeze’ blue ink. I then stamped the flock of birds from the same set over the top of one of the feathers using Versafine Clair ‘Twilight’ navy ink. These were then heat embossed with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder before being fussy cut out.

For the sentiment - this was stamped onto some white card using Versafine Clair ‘Twilight’ navy blue ink before being heat embossed with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder and fussy cut out.

Finally, the background was mounted onto some white hammered card and a white card blank. The feathers (and white craft feathers) were layered onto the card using 3D mounts and acrylic glue before the sentiments and some sparkly gems were added for interest.

I love the layered look to this card and will definitely be using this new set again. It’s perfect for anyone facing new beginnings.

Top Tip: Use different sized foam mounts or 3D glue to layer your cards.
