Soar
Have you checked out the brand new release from Visible Image? I just love this re-imagined collection called ‘Time to Fly’. For my second DT sample I’ve used the ‘Soar’ stamp set.
To begin, I took a white piece of card and sprayed it with ‘Twisted Citron’, ‘Mowed Lawn’ and ‘Tumbled Glass’ distress spray stain. Some water droplets were then sprinkled over the background. After this dried I went around the edge of the card with the same colours of distress ink. Up next I stamped the ‘tree branches’ as grass onto the bottom of the card using Versafine Clair ‘Grass Green’ ink and ‘Rustic Wilderness’ distress ink before heat embossing with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder.
The focal bird image was stamped onto the background using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink and heat embossed with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. The spots behind the bird wings were stamped with ‘Salty Ocean’ distress ink – I love how it shows the magic of the bird taking flight.
The sentiment from the same set was stamped onto some white card using the same black ink and heat embossed. The sentiment was cut out and layered onto some black card. A little sparkle from a wink of stella pen makes it glisten in the light.
Finally, the background was mounted onto some black card and a white card blank & some posca white paint splatters and sparkly gems added for interest.
Top Tip: Spray, blend and stamp in the same colour of distress inks to add layers of the same colour to your card design.
