Falling Leaves Tag

 

Sunny days have definitely given way to crisp Autumnal air. This inspired my latest tag make for one of the crafty groups I belong to. For their monthly challenge I chose to use the 'Leaf Fragments’ dies from Tim Holtz - Sizzix and the ‘Sketchy Leaves’ stamp set from Stampers Anonymous as the theme was ‘Falling Leaves’.

For this make I started by taking a size 8 tag by Dina Wakley and smooshing it into ‘Rusty Hinge’, ‘Rustic Wilderness’ and ‘Festive Berries’ distress ink that had been spritzed with water. To add some interest to the background the leaves from the ‘Sketchy Leaves’ stamp set from was stamped onto the background using Versamark and heat embossed with Wow clear gloss embossing powder,

Up next, the leaf fragment dies were die cut out and sprayed with ‘Rustic Wilderness’, ‘Scorched Timber’ and ‘Rusty Hinge’ distress spray stain. When dried some additional distress inks were blended over the top (‘Festive Berries’ and Vintage Photo’). A little shimmer was added with some ‘Fossilzed Amber’ distress spritz spray. I then took the ‘Sketchy Leaves’ stamps again and stamped over the leaves using Versamark and heat embossed with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. The dies were then glued onto the tag alongside some ‘mummy tape’.

Finally, the tag was mounted onto some black card before a few gems, threads and idea-ology quote chip (edged in ‘Vintage Photo’ distress ink) were added for that final autumnal feel.

I had great fun making this tag and can’t wait until the next swap!
