Brighter Days Card

 

An August heatwave is now underway here in the UK which makes crafting an interesting experience. A little reminder not to turn the fan on when embossing!! However, I thought it timely to share another one of my samples from the recent ‘Love of Nature’ release from Visible Image. For this creation I’ve used the ‘Brighter Days’ stamp set.

To begin, I took a piece of white card and sprayed ‘Tumbled Glass’, ‘Salvaged Patina’ and ‘Peacock Feathers’ Distress spray stains over the surface. A few water splatters adding a little interest to the background before some additional stamping of the circles from the ‘Brighter Days’ stamp set using Versamark and heat embossing with Wow superfine opaque bright white embossing powder. I then added some of the smaller dragonflies using Versafine Clair ‘Arctic’ blue ink and heat embossed with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder.

On a separate piece of white card the dragonflies from the stamp set were stamped out using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink before being heat embossed with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. These were then fussy cut out and edged with a black permanent marker and covered in metallic watercolours and a Wink of Stella glitter pen – lovely sparkle!

The sentiment from the same stamp set was stamped onto a piece of black card using Versamark and heat embossed with Wow superfine opaque bright white embossing powder before being fussy cut out.

Finally, the dragonflies and sentiment were added to the card using 3D mounts and acrylic glue. Some Posca white and black paint splats, ‘Tumbled Glass’ distress spritz spray and sparkly gems gave a final touch of glamour to the card.
