Blooming Fabulous & Colourful Life Card

August is holiday season and it’s also a time when you hope to see some stunning sunsets! This inspired this week’s DT creation using the new ‘Blooming Fabulous’ stamp set alongside the ‘Colourful Life’ set and ‘Windows’ stencil to create a birthday card. All products are available from Visible Image.

Up first, I took a white piece of card and sprayed it with ‘Speckled Egg’, ‘Tumbled Glass’ and ‘Peacock Feathers’ distress spray stains. I then sprayed over it with lots of water before leaving to dry. Not too much water that you saturate the card – but just enough to dilute the colours.

Next, I placed the ‘Windows’ stencil over the top and blended ‘Peacock Feathers’ distress ink through it. After cleaning the stencil I went over the inked image with some Distress translucent crackle paste before splattering with some white Posca paint.

Whilst this dried, I took the flowers from the ‘Blooming Fabulous’ and ‘Colourful Life’ stamp set and stamped these onto a separate piece of white card using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink and heat embossed with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. These were fussy cut out before being sprayed with ‘Picked Raspberry’, ‘Kitsch Flamingo’ and ‘Spiced Marmalade’ distress spray stain. The words from the ‘Blooming Fabulous’ stamp set were then stamped onto the larger flowers using Versafine Clair ‘Charming Pink’ ink. I didn’t emboss these. The flowers were also sprayed with ‘Picked Raspberry’ and ‘Spiced Marmalade’ distress spritz spray to add a little glitz.

Heading into the final straight…The sentiments from the ‘Blooming Fabulous’ stamp set were stamped onto some white card using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink and heat embossed with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. These were cut out using a paper trimmer and layered onto some black card.

Finally, the background was added to some black card and a white card blank. The flowers and sentiments were added to the card using acrylic glue and 3D mounts. Some sparkly gems were also glued to the flowers for added interest,

I really love this new ‘Love of Nature’ collection and it goes perfectly with the ‘Floral Life’ collection – I will definitely be combining them in my future makes.
