Celebrating 50 - July 2025 Visible Image ATC Swap

‘Celebrating 50’ is the theme for the July 2025 ATC swap over on the Visible Image Facebook page. No, it’s not quite my special birthday!! But, this month we get to pick from the whole range of ATC themes that had taken place for the swap. I chose ‘Landscape or Portrait’ as I really do need to do more landscape orientation creations. For my make I chose to use ‘Bee Happy’, ‘Blooming Fabulous’, ‘Brighter Days’ and the ‘Wildflowers Stencil’. All available from Visible Image.

To begin, I took an ATC sized piece of white card and blended ‘Wild Honey’, ‘Fossilized Amber’ and ‘Scattered Straw’ distress inks over one half of the ATC before splattering a few water droplets over the top. When dry, the ‘Wildflowers’ stencil was placed over the top and ‘Black Soot’ distress ink blended through it.

Background elements from ‘Blooming Fabulous’ and the ‘Bee Happy’ stamp sets were stamped onto the ATC using the same coloured distress inks as the background. I love to see how you get a different depth of colour when stamping and blending.

I then added the sentiment from the ‘Brighter Days’ set in Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink before heat embossing with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. Some ‘Fossilized Amber’ distress spritz spray and posca white paint splatters were added over the top to finish off the background.

Up next, the bees from ‘Bee Happy’ were stamped onto a separate piece of card using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink before heat embossing with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. These were then fussy cut out and painted with some watercolour paints.

Finally, the bees were layered onto the ATC using 3D mounts and acrylic glue. Some sparkly gems were also added for interest. I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge this month. Thanks Jane Tyrrell for another brilliant ATC swap and I can’t wait till the next one.

I’ve only been taking part in the Visible Image ATC swaps for a couple of years but July is the 50th swap! This month we get to pick from the whole range of ATC themes that had taken place. I chose ‘Landscape or Portrait’ for the ATC as I really do need to do more landscape makes. For the card I sent with it I chose to use ‘Bee Happy’, ‘Blooming Fabulous’, ‘Brighter Days’ and the ‘Wildflowers Stencil’. 

To begin, I took a piece of white card and blended ‘Wild Honey’, ‘Fossilized Amber’ and ‘Scattered Straw’ distress inks over it before splattering a few water droplets over the top.

The ‘Wildflowers’ stencil was then placed over the top of the background and Distress opaque grit paste smoothed through it.

I then stamped the sentiment from the ‘Brighter Days’ set in Versamark onto black card before heat embossing with Wow superfine opaque bright white embossing powder. This was fussy cut out and layered onto some white card that had been edged in ‘Faded Jeans’ distress ink. Some ‘Fossilized Amber’ distress spritz spray and posca white paint splatters were added over the top to finish off the background.
