Blooming Fabulous and Atmospheric Card

 

It’s launch week over at Visible Image with its ‘Love of Nature’ collection. For my first sample I’m sharing a card made with the brand new ‘Blooming Fabulous’ stamp set and ‘Atmospheric’ stencil. 

To begin, I took a piece of white card and blended ‘Saltwater Taffy’, ‘Kitsch Flamingo’, ‘Squeezed Lemonade’, ‘Twisted Citron’, ‘Tumbled Glass’ and ‘Shaded Lilac’ Distress oxide over the surface. A few water splatters adding a little interest to the background before some additional stamping from the ‘Blooming Fabulous’ stamp set using the same distress oxide colours.

Before the stencilling I brushed the surface of the background with Distress micro glaze. This helps to seal the colours of the card to help prevent bleeding into the texture paste.

Up next, the ‘Atmospheric’ stencil was placed over the top of the background randomly and Distress grit paste smoothed through it before leaving to dry.

The floral element of the ‘Blooming Fabulous’ stamp set was stamped (x2) onto another piece of white card using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink before being heat embossed with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. These were fussy cut out before some ‘Peacock Feathers’ distress ink was blended over each flower.

Both sentiments from the same stamp set were stamped onto a piece of black card using Versamark and heat embossed with Wow superfine opaque bright white embossing powder. These were fussy cut out.

Finally, the floral elements and sentiments were added to the card using 3D mounts and acrylic glue. Some Posca white paint splats, ‘Hickory Smoke’ distress spritz spray and sparkly gems gave a final touch of glamour to the card. Perfect for a best friend’s birthday!
