On the Railroad

 

As the daylight hours get longer here in the UK I’m making the most of some extra time to create! Here’s one of my latest birthday cards for someone very special.


I started by taking a piece of white card and blended ‘Tumbled Glass’, ‘Stormy Skies’, ‘Speckled Egg’ distress ink onto it. I then stamped some of the elements from the Stampers Anonymous ‘On the Railroad’ stamp set onto the background using Versafine ‘Morning Mist’ grey ink and ‘Stormy Sky’ distress ink. Once dried, I placed two Stampers Anonymous stencils onto the background and blended ‘Stormy Sky’ distress ink through them. A little water and ‘Tumbled Glass’ spritz spray was then dotted all over the card.

Once everything was dry, the main train image from the same stamp set was stamped onto the background using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink before being heat embossed with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. Another image was stamped onto some other white card in the same way before being fussy cut out and painted with ‘Chipped Sapphire’ distress ink.

A couple of elements from the ‘Deconstructed’ stamp set were stamped onto some white card using the same black ink and fussy cut out. The letters were then mounted onto some dark red buttons.

Finally, the card elements were layered up onto black card and a white card blank. An idea-ology quote chip, some water droplet gems, fluffy toy stuffing and wink of stella sparkle were added for further interest. I had a great time with this make and I hope you feel inspired to create too.
