Bee Happy Tag

As part of a little tag swap the theme was either ‘Darling Buds of May’ or ‘Blossom’, I couldn’t make up my mind about what to go with so it’s a bit of a mash up of both! I decided to make a little tag to match my latest Design Team make for Visible Image.

For this tag I’ve used the ‘Bee Happy’ and ‘Calm over Chaos’ stamp sets as well as the script from the ‘Sketched Tulips’ set. The sentiment is from ‘Precious Life’

To get started I took a size 8 white tag and blended ‘Dried Marigold’, ‘Carved Pumpkin’, ‘Worn Lipstick’, ‘Picked Raspberry’ and ‘Peacock Feathers’ over it. Once dried, a few drops of water were spritzed over the tag. Next up, I stamped the script from ‘Sketched Tulips’ and the spots from ‘Bee Happy’ onto the background using Versafine Clair inks – ‘Charming Pink’, ‘Bali Blue’ and ‘Summertime’.

The blossom twigs from the ‘Calm over Chaos’ stamp set were stamped onto the tag using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink before being heat embossed with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. This was followed by the bees using the same method. An additional set of bees were stamped onto another piece of white card in the same way before colouring in with colouring pencils and the Visible Image metallic chameleon watercolours. These were fussy cut out and edged with black permanent marker.

The sentiment from ‘Precious Life’ was then stamped onto black card using Versamark and heat embossed with Wow superfine bright white opaque embossing powder before being fussy cut out.

Finally, the tag was glued onto black card. The bees were added on top of the already stamped bees on the background using acrylic glue (leaving the wings to pop out from the tag) before some Posca white paint, ribbon and some water droplet gems were added to complete the tag.
