Spring Shadows Tag

For a recent monthly tag challenge I made a cute little make using the brilliant ‘Spring Shadows’ from Stampers Anonymous as well as a few Sizzix die cuts.

For this make I started by taking a size 8 tag by Dina Wakley and dipping this into ‘Uncharted Mariner’ and ‘Peeled Paint’ distress ink that had been spritzed with water. I then went around the edge of the tag using ‘Old Paper’ distress ink. The stencil from the ‘Spring Shadows’ set was then placed over the top and ‘Peeled Paint’ distress ink brushed through one half whilst Distress crackle paste was smoothed through the other half.

Whilst waiting for this to dry I stamped out some of the elements from the stamp set onto another piece of card using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink, Versafine Clair ‘Avocado’ and ‘Shady Lane’ green inks. These were heat embossed with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder before fussy cutting out. One of the floral elements was stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with Wow sparkling snow embossing powder for a sparkly look.

When the tag was dry some of the elements from the stamp set were stamped onto the tag using ‘Uncharted Mariner’ distress ink. Some ‘Uncharted Mariner’ distress spritz spray and Posca white paint splatters finished off the background.

The tag was then layered up using an idea-ology sentiment and mounted onto some black and white card before a few gems and some crochet trim was added.

A really simple tag with a little touch of Spring!
