Spring Awakening & Affirmations ATCs

 

Have you noticed all the brightly coloured & foil wrapped Easter Eggs lately? You only need to walk into a shop to see and smell all the chocolate on the shelves. That inspired this week’s ‘Easter Wishes’ DT make. I decided to make some ATCs to send a bright Easter greeting to my crafty friends this holiday season. I’ve used the ‘Spring Awakening’ and ‘Affirmations’ stamps sets - both available from Visible Image.

ATCs don’t have to be too detailed to be fun gifts so if you’ve never had a go then why not try this tutorial… To begin, I took 2 pieces of white card and sprayed them with ‘Wilted Violet’, ‘Picked Raspberry’, ‘Saltwater Taffy’, ‘Twisted Citron’, ‘Tumbled Glass’ and ‘Squeezed Lemonade’ distress spray stain. Some water droplets were splattered over them.

The ATCs were cut out from these backgrounds using an ATC die from my crafty stash. I chose the best 4 out of the 6 cut out to make my ATCs with.

Up next, I got stamping onto the ATCs using elements from the ‘Spring Awakening’ stamp set. First of all I stamped the text using Versafine Clair inks (‘Verdant’, ‘Summertime’, ‘Charming Pink’ and ‘Lilac Bloom’). I then stamped the main floral images using Versamark and heat embossed with Wow superfine opaque bright white embossing powder. One of the small flowers and the dots were then added in the same coloured inks as the text.

The ATCs were sprayed with Posca white acrylic paint splatters and some ‘Fossilized Amber’ distress spritz spray before putting to one side.

The sentiments from the ‘Affirmations’ stamp set were stamped onto black card using Versamark and heat embossing with Wow superfine opaque bright white embossing powder. A little Wink of Stella pen gives a glittery look to the sentiments before fussy cutting out ready to add to the ATCs.

Finally, the sentiments were glued to the ATCs using 3D mounts and some sparkly gems were added for extra sparkle.
