Mother's Day Card

I took a trip to a garden centre last weekend – so many plants and flowers to choose from. With Mother’s Day rapidly approaching this inspired my DT clean and simple make using the ‘Birthday in Bloom’ stamp set as well as the brand new ‘Light Trail’ stencil. All available from Visible Image.

Stepped Instructions:

1) Light Trail Stencil: 

Place the stencil over the top of a 6 inch x 6 inch white piece of card. Blend ‘Villainous Potion’, ‘Wilted Violet’ and ‘Shaded Lilac’ distress ink through it. Remove the stencil.

2) Birthday in Bloom:
Stamp the vase from the ‘Birthday in Bloom’ stamp set using Versafine Clair ‘Lilac Bloom’ ink over the top of the stencilled image before heat embossing with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. Repeat this for the floral images using Versafine Clair ‘Avocado’ ink for the stems and Versafine Clair ‘Charming Pink’ for the flowers. Colour in the stems with a green colouring pencil.

Repeat the stamping on a separate piece of white card for the flowers. Colour in with ‘Picked Raspberry’ distress ink and an orange colouring pencil for the centre of the flowers. Add some Wink of Stella glitter pen for added sparkle.

3) Sentiment: 

Stamp onto a small piece of white card using Versafine Clair ‘Charming Pink’ ink. Fussy cut out.

4) Completion: 

Finally, layer the background onto black card and a white card blank using acrylic glue before adding the flowers using 3D foam mounts. Some Glossy Accents over the vase and a few water droplet gems finish off the card.

I really enjoyed making this Mother’s Day card. It’s perfect to wish that special person a wonderful day.
