Curious Cats - Sympathy Card

 

When a beloved pet wanders over the rainbow bridge it’s such a sad time. For my DT make this week I’ve chosen to make a ‘With Sympathy’ card that you could send to anyone who’s feeling a little blue whilst they grieve the loss of a much loved pet. For this make I’ve used the ‘Curious Cats’ stamp set, ‘Go To Words’ set as well as the ‘Daisy Daisy’ stencil. All available from Visible Image.


Stepped Instructions:

1) Curious Cats: Stamp the main cat image and the whiskers onto some white card using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink. Heat emboss with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder.

2) Daisy Daisy: Place the stencil over the embossed cat image. Lightly brush ‘Squeezed Lemonade’, ‘Saltwater Taffy’, ‘Kitsch Flamingo’, ‘Shaded Lilac’, ‘Tumbled Glass’, and ‘Twisted Citron’ distress ink through and around the stencil. Remove the stencil.

3) Sentiment: Stamp the ‘With Sympathy’ sentiment from the ‘Go to Words’ stamp set onto a separate small piece of white card using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink. Heat emboss with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. Edge the white card with ‘Twisted Citron’ distress ink. Glue the sentiment to a small piece of black card.

4) Completion: Finally, layer the background onto black card and white card blank using acrylic glue and 3d mounts for the sentiment before adding some sparkly gems.

5) Envelope: Why stop at just the card? Add a little flourish to the envelope! To go alongside the card I stamped one of the small cats from the ‘Curious Cats’ in the same way as the main image. Part of the ‘Daisy Daisy’ stencil was then placed over the top and inks brushed through it using the same colours as the main card.
