Bring on the Beers
For the background I wanted a grungy look so dipped a piece of white card into ‘Scattered Straw’, ‘Antique Linen’ and ‘Fossilized Amber’ distress oxides that had been sprayed with water. I then topped this up and edged the card with ‘Tea Dye’ distress ink. Once dried, I placed the ‘Splash’ stencil over the background and smoothed Distress opaque grit paste through it. Some ‘Fossilized Amber’ distress spritz spray was then sprayed over the top of the paste – it gives such a glorious metallic sheen. The bubbles from the ‘Bring on the Beers’ stamp set were then stamped around the edge of the card using Versafine Clair ‘Portobello’ brown ink.
On a separate piece of card the beer glass, sentiments (including one from the ‘Best Birthday Ever’ stamp set), bottles and bottle tops were stamped using either Versafine Clair ‘Morning Mist’ or ‘Nocturne’ black ink before being heat embossed with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. The glass, bottles and bottle tops were then die cut out before being coloured in using distress inks or colouring pencils. The bottles were then covered with Ranger glossy accents, the sentiments cut out and mounted onto some black card.
Finally, the background was glued onto black card and a white card blank. All the elements were added to the background using 3D glue before some bead paste, wink of stella glitter pen and small sparkly stars finished the card. A great masculine card for a close friend I hope you agree?
