Calm over Chaos

 

Summer crafting means time to top up my range of greetings cards that are perfect for those ‘just because’ moments. Today, I chose to use the ‘Calm over Chaos’ stamp set from Visible Image with its Japanese inspired design. It’s perfect to pair up with the ‘Painted Grid’ stencil too.

For this make I started by placing the ‘Painted Grid’ stencil over the top of some white card before brushing ‘Salvaged Patina’, ‘Spun Sugar’ and ‘Shaded Lilac’ distress ink through it. The stencil was removed and some water droplets sprinkled over the top before leaving to dry.

Next up, I stamped the cherry blossom branch and the smaller cherry blossom stamps onto the card background using the new Versafine Clair ‘Very Peri’ ink. A few of the larger blossom stamps were then stamped onto another piece of card using the same coloured ink and heat embossed with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. ‘Spin Sugar’ distress ink was then brushed over the blossoms. The blooms were then fussy cut out and added to the card with 3D glue.

The main image from the ‘Calm Over Chaos’ set was stamped out onto a piece of white card using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink before being heat embossed with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. This was then coloured in using ‘Salvaged Patina’ watercolour pencil and a Zig color brush pen before being fussy cut out. The sentiment was then stamped out and mounted onto some black card.

Finally, the background was mounted onto black card and a white card blank. The elements were then glued into position (using 3D glue) before some wink of stella glitter pen and small gems were added for interest. The Japanese writing was also added to the card using Versafine Clair ‘Lilac Bloom ink.
