Daisy Grunge

One of my favourite stamp sets has to be ‘Daisy Grunge’ from Visible Image. It’s perfect for any summer inspired card. For my DT make this week I’ve teamed it up with the butterfly from the ‘VI Minis #1’ stamp set.

Up first, I sprayed a piece of white card with ‘Squeezed Lemonade’, ‘Dried Marigold’, ‘Saltwater Taffy’ and ‘Spiced Marmalade’ distress spray stain. ‘Saltwater Taffy’ distress ink was then blended around the edges of the card before some water droplets were spritzed over the top of the background.

Next, the large daisy from the ‘Daisy Grunge’ stamp set were stamped 3 times onto the background using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink and heat embossed with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. The smaller daisies from the same set were then stamped around the edge of the card using Hero Arts Unicorn white pigment ink. To add further interest the ‘smile’ sentiment was added to the background using ‘Saltwater Taffy’ distress ink. The large daisies were then coloured in using Faber-Castell polychromos pencils and a wink of stella glitter pen.

On a separate piece of white card, the butterfly from the ‘VI Minis #1’ set and the sentiment from the ‘Daisy Grunge’ stamp set were stamped using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ ink before being heat embossed using the same clear embossing powder. They were then both fussy cut out before the sentiment was glued to some black card.

Finally, the background was put onto black card and a white card blank before the sentiment and butterfly were added using 3D mounts alongside some water droplets. A very summery card – just perfect for sending a friend a little hello!
