Celebrations - May 2024 - Visible Image ATC Swap

‘Celebrations’ was the theme for the May ATC swap over on the Visible Image Facebook page. This was to celebrate 3 years of the swaps organised by @jane.tyrrell. Thanks so much to Jane for organising this marvellous activity each month. For my ATC I chose to use the ‘Birthday Wishes’, ‘Live Life Now’, ‘Antisocial Butterfly’ and ‘Tomorrow Doesn’t Exist’ stamp sets.

To begin, I dipped an ATC sized card into ‘Kitsch Flamingo’, ‘Tumbled Glass’ and ‘Shaded Lilac’ distress inks. Once dried, I stamped the butterflies from the ‘Live Life Now’ stamp set onto the background using ‘Shaded Lilac’ distress ink and Hero Arts Unicorn pigment white ink. I then stamped the main image from the ‘Tomorrow Doesn’t Exist’ stamp set onto the ATC using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink heat embossed it with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder.

On a separate piece of card I stamped 3 small butterflies from the ‘Antisocial Butterfly’ stamp set and coloured these in using the same distress ink colours as the background. These were then added to the ATC using 3D glue. Next up, I singled out the ‘fabulous’ from one of the sentiments from the ‘Birthday Wishes’ stamp set and stamped this using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink heat embossed it with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. I then fussy cut it out and edged it with each of the distress ink colours used for the background once more.

Finally, small coloured gems were placed on for added dimension.

For every Visible Image ATC swap I try and make a card to go alongside the ATC. For my card this month I chose to use the ‘Lost for Words’, ‘Live Life Now’, ‘Antisocial Butterfly’ and ‘Tomorrow Doesn’t Exist’ stamp sets.

First of all I sprayed a white piece of card with ‘Kitsch Flamingo’, ‘Tumbled Glass’ and ‘Shaded Lilac’ distress spray stain. Some water splatters were then sprinkled over the surface of the background. Once dried, I stamped the butterflies from the ‘Live Life Now’ stamp set onto the background using ‘Shaded Lilac’ distress ink and Hero Arts Unicorn pigment white ink. I then stamped the main image from the ‘Tomorrow Doesn’t Exist’ stamp set onto the background using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink heat embossed it with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. The edge of the large butterfly in the ‘Live Life Now’ stamp set was then inked in Versamark and placed around the edge of the background and heat embossed with Disco Ball Wow embossing powder.

I then fussy cut it out and edged it with each of the distress ink colours used for the background once more. This was then added to a small piece of black card.

Finally, the background was mounted onto black card and a white card blank. Some small coloured gems were then placed on for added interest.
