Resilient Bonsai

Did you know that bonsai is the Japanese art of growing and shaping small trees? They are often grown in different types of pots or other containers. This new release from Visible Image perfectly captures this magical art form. For this make I decided to keep it simple with some stamping and embossing using the new ‘Resilient Bonsai’ stamp set.

First of all I stamped 2 of the bonsai trees onto a DL sized piece of card using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink. I then heat embossed the images with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder before colouring in with watercolour pencils. I then took other elements from the stamp set and stamped them onto the background of the card and onto the base of the bonsai trees using Versamark and Wow superfine metallic gold rich embossing powder. Instead of having a flat circle I decided to stamp this separately and fussy cut it out and then added to the card with 3D mounts.

The sentiments were then stamped onto black card with Versamark before being heat embossed with Wow superfine opaque bright white embossing powder. These were then mounted onto white card before being stuck onto the background with acrylic glue.

Finally, the background was mounted onto black card and a white card blank. I’m really pleased with this beautiful, clean and simple card. It’ll be perfect for those friends who need some encouragement.
