Calm Over Chaos & Painted Grid

 

There’s so much to love about this time of year. Blossom and blooms everywhere! When it comes to crafting I’m loving the brand new ‘Calm Over Chaos’ stamp set from Visible Image with its Japanese inspired designs. It goes perfectly with the new ‘Painted Grid’ stencil too.

For this make I started by stamping the main image from the ‘Calm Over Chaos’ stamp set onto a piece of white card using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink and heat embossed with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. I then placed the ‘Painted Grid’ stencil over the top before brushing ‘Victorian Velvet’ distress ink through it.

After removing the stencil, I stamped the cherry blossom branch and the smaller cherry blossom stamps in the top right of the card background using Versamark and heat embossed with Wow ‘Arctic Rose’ embossing powder. A few of the larger blossom stamp were then stamped onto another piece of card using Versamark and Wow opaque bright white embossing powder. ‘Victorian Velvet’ distress ink was then brushed over the blossoms so you can see the intricate details of this lovely stamp. The blossoms were then fussy cut out and added to the card with 3D glue.

The sentiment from the ‘Calm Over Chaos’ set was then stamped out onto a piece of white card before being edged in the same distress ink as the background. I then added a few of the small cherry blossoms to the corners of the sentiment before mounting onto some black card and adding to the card using 3D mounts.

Finally, the background was mounted onto black card and a white card blank. Some wink of stella glitter pen and small water droplet gems were added for interest. The Japanese writing was also added to the top of the card using the same black ink as before. A lovely and delicate card perfect to cheer up any friend I hope you agree.
