Art Spheres #1 & Bee Happy

I’ve been after some smaller stencils for a while and the new ‘Art Spheres #1’ stencil(s) from Visible Image are perfect for smaller cards and so much more. For my DT make this week I’ve teamed up the new stencil(s) with the Bee Happy stamp and die set to create some simple Artist Trading Coins (ATC). These coins are a variation of the usual Artist Trading Cards you may be more familiar with.

To get started I die cut out a few ATCs from white card using a generic 2.5” circle die. I then chose 3 of the stencil designs and brushed ‘Squeezed Lemonade’, ‘Picked Raspberry’ and ‘Peacock Feathers’ distress ink through each of them in turn. I love these colours as they are so bright and cheerful and blend beautifully together.

Next up I stamped the sentiments from the ‘Bee Happy’ stamp set onto each ATC using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink. I then heat embossed the images with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. All before stamping a selection of the bees from the ‘Bee Happy’ set from another piece of white card, die cutting out and colouring in with Zig clean color brushes. Some wink of stella was added to the bee wings for added sparkle.

Finally, the bees were added using 3D glue to each ATC. Some water droplet gems were then added for interest and dimension. This is my first attempt at Artist Trading Coins and it won’t be the last. They’ll also be great for small card toppers too!
