Curious Cats

Cats are such inquisitive creatures and I just love the cheeky look of this feline in the ‘Curious Cats’ stamp set. For this make I’ve teamed up the stamp set with the new ‘Splash’ stencil, all from Visible Image.

I started the make by placing the ‘Splash’ stencil onto a piece of white card and blended ‘Lost Shadow’, ‘Tea Dye’, ‘Brushed Corduroy’ and ‘Vintage Photo’ distress ink randomly through it. I then stamped the main cat image and the whiskers from the ‘Curious Cats’ set using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink and heat embossed them with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. The eyes were then stamped again on a separate piece of card in the same way before being coloured in using Faber-Castell polychromos colouring pencils. These were then topped with Ranger glossy accents and stuck onto the card with acrylic glue.

For the sentiment I stamped this onto another piece of white card using the same black ink and embossing powder as before and fussy cut it out. Some pawprints were also added using ‘Tea Dye’ distress ink. This was then mounted onto black card. The two smaller cats were then stamped and heat embossed in the same way before being fussy cut out and placed onto the background.

Finally, the background was mounted onto black card and a white card blank and a few glittery gems were added for further interest. The purr-fect card to gift to those pet lovers at any time of year I hope you agree.
