Nothing to Wear - Valentine's Day Card

We’re now more than half the way through January so my thoughts have definitely turned towards Valentine’s Day. For my DT make this week I’ve used the ‘Nothing to Wear’ stamp set & die alongside the ‘Have I Told You’ sentiment set and the ‘Halftone’ stencil all from Visible Image. This card would be perfect for those often difficult to make – ‘men in your life’ - cards.

To get started, I blended ‘Festive Berries’, ‘Worn Lipstick’ and ‘Antique Linen’ distress inks onto a white piece of card. Once dried, I went round the edges of the card with ‘Worn Lipstick’ distress ink before splattering the card with water. The ‘Halftone’ Stencil was then placed over it before some Distress opaque grit paste was smoothed through it.

On a separate piece of card I stamped the T-Shirt from the ‘Nothing to Wear’ stamp set using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ before heat embossing with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. This was then die cut out before stamping the heart from the same stamp set using Versafine Clair ‘Glamorous’ pink ink all over the T-Shirt. The sentiment and some hearts from the ‘Have I Told You’ set were then stamped in Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ ink and heat embossed with Wow superfine clear gloss superfine embossing powder.

At this point I felt the T-shirt was still a bit bare so I masked off another of the ‘Have I Told You’ sentiments and stamped ‘love’ and ‘love you’ in various places across the T-Shirt in the same Versafine pink ink. The hearts were then coloured in using ‘Worn Lipstick’ distress ink. Some shading was added using the same ink before some Ranger glossy accents were added.

Finally, all the elements were added using 3D mounts and the background was mounted onto black card and a white card blank. A few glittery gems were added for further dimension. So if you are looking for a card for a loved one you can’t go far wrong with saying ‘I love You’ on a T-shirt card!
