The Big Chill - Visible Image ATC Swap December 2023

Wow! It really has started to get rather wintry these last couple of weeks – Brrrrrrr. Coincidently, ‘The Big Chill’ is December’s ATC swap challenge theme over on the Visible Image Facebook group. This month I’ve chosen to use the ‘Christmas Robin’ stamps and dies, ‘Let it Snow’ and ‘Grunge Christmas Words’ stamp sets.

To begin with I took an ATC sized piece of white card and dipped it into ‘Tumbled Glass’, ‘Speckled Egg’ and ‘Stormy Sky’ distress ink that had been spritzed with water. I then used ‘Stormy Sky’ to edge the ATC. Next up I stamped the ‘Grunge Christmas Words’ onto the ATC using Versafine Clair ‘Twilight’ blue ink (2nd generation). I then took some of the snowflakes from the ‘Let it Snow’ stamp set and stamped onto the ATC using Versamark before heat embossing with Wow sparkling snow embossing glitter.

On a separate piece of white card I then stamped the branch, & small robin from the ‘Christmas Robin’ stamp set using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink and heat embossed it with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. These were then die cut out and coloured in with watercolour pencils. The sentiment was then stamped onto a small piece of black card with Versamark and heat embossed it with Wow superfine opaque bright white embossing powder before fussy cutting out and layered onto a small piece of blue inky card.

Finally, after a splattering of some Posca white acrylic paint pen, all the elements were added using 3D mounts. Some small coloured gems were also placed on for added sparkle. Thanks to @jane.tyrrell for organising another fantastic swap.

Time to grab those winter woollies here in the UK as winter has definitely arrived! ‘The Big Chill’ is December’s ATC swap challenge theme over on the Visible Image Facebook group. This month I’ve chosen to use the ‘Christmas Robin’ stamps and dies, ‘Let it Snow’ and ‘Grunge Christmas Words’ stamp sets for a card to go alongside the ATC.

To begin with I took a piece of white card and sprayed it with ‘Tumbled Glass’, ‘Speckled Egg’ and ‘Stormy Sky’ distress spray stain. I then used ‘Stormy Sky’ to edge the card. Next up I stamped the ‘Grunge Christmas Words’ onto the background using Versafine Clair ‘Twilight’ blue ink (2nd generation). Finally, some Glossy Accents were added to the holly berries and small coloured gems were also placed on for added sparkle. A festive little card for Christmas 2023!
