You're a Classic

I was recently commissioned to make a thank you card for someone special. I thought the ‘You’re a Classic’ car stamp would be absolutely perfect. For this make I’ve also teamed it up with the ‘Transmission Glitch’ and ‘Go to Words’ stamp sets – all from Visible Image.

For the background I sprayed a piece of white card with ‘Tumbled Glass’, ‘Peacock Feathers’ and ‘Salvaged Patina’ distress spray stains. A few water droplets were then splattered across the background for added interest. I then took the blueprint car from the ‘You’re a Classic’ stamp set and randomly stamped this onto the background with Versafine Clair ‘Twilight’ blue ink (2nd generation). I then added some of the stamps from the ‘Transmission Glitch’ stamp set in the same way using ‘Chipped Sapphire’ distress ink. Some of the squares were coloured in with a clear glitter gel pen before the background was edged with the same distress ink.

Next up, the main car image from the ‘You’re a Classic’ stamp set was stamped onto a separate piece of white card using Versafine Clair ‘Twilight’ blue ink and heat embossed with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder before being fussy cut out. The sentiment from the ‘Go to Words’ set were then stamped onto a small piece of white card using the same Versafine ink before being heat embossed and brushed with distress ink and mounted onto black card.

Finally, the car was added to the background using 3D mounts. The background was then glued onto black card and a white card blank before some sparkle was added using some gems in the corners of the card.
