Poinsettia Grunge at Christmas

It’s not long to go until the fun and festivities begin for Christmas 2023. I’m still knee deep in card making and will probably still be sticking things together at midnight on Christmas Eve. For this make I’ve teamed the ‘Ye Olde Christmas’ stencil with the ‘Poinsettia Grunge’ stamp set all from Visible Image.

To begin with I took a white piece of card and sprayed it with ‘Pink Flamingo’ dylusions ink spray. Some ‘Shaded Lilac’ distress ink was then used around the edge of the card. I then stamped the small poinsettia image from the ‘Poinsettia Grunge’ set around the edges of the background with Versafine Clair ‘Glamorous’ ink. Next, the stencil was added over the top of the background and some Distress opaque grit paste (with added ‘Picked Raspberry’ distress reinker) spread through it. The background was then edged with some Brilliance ‘Galaxy Gold’ archival ink.

On a separate piece of card I stamped 3 of the large poinsettia images using Versamark ink and heat embossed using Wow superfine gold rich embossing powder. The flowers were then fussy cut out and coloured in using Zig brush pens and a Wink of Stella pen. Some small gems were then added to the centres of the flowers. The sentiment was stamped using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ and blended with the gold archival ink and mounted onto some black card.

Finally, all the elements were then added to the card background with 3D glue and the background was layered onto black card and a white card blank before a few sparkly gems were added.
