Ericka's Maple

As the cold nights draw in and you see those crisp leaves begin to fall it’s definitely time for some autumnal crafting! For my DT make this week I’ve chosen the fabulous ‘Ericka’s Maple’ stamp set alongside the ‘Distressed Brick’ stencil all from Visible Image.

For the background I dipped a piece of white card into ‘Uncharted Mariner’ distress oxide spray and distress ink that had been sprayed with water. Once dried, I stamped the smaller leaves from the ‘Ericka’s Maple’ stamp set onto the background in random places using ‘Uncharted Mariner’ distress ink. I then placed the ‘Distressed Brick stencil over the top of the background and blended ‘Picket Fence’ distress ink through it making sure I moved the stencil around so the stencil image was not all in one position. The background was then covered with Distress micro glaze to help bring out the different layers of colour.
 
Next up, for the main leaves I dipped a piece of white card into ‘Picked Raspberry’, ‘Carved Pumpkin’ and ‘Saltwater Taffy’ distress oxides that had been sprayed with water. This was topped up with ‘Picked Raspberry’ and ‘Carved Pumpkin’ distress ink. The main leaf was then stamped 3 times using Versafine Clair ‘Charming Pink’ ink and heat embossed with Wow clear gloss superfine embossing powder. The images were then fussy cut out and edged with a pink Sharpie pen.
 
The sentiment was stamped out onto a piece of card that had been inked with ‘Uncharted Mariner’ distress ink. I used Versamark and heat embossed it with Wow opaque bright white embossing powder.
 
Finally, the background was put onto pink card and a white card blank before the leaves and sentiment were added using 3D mounts alongside some gems. A perfectly autumnal card for any special occasion I hope you agree?
