Rusty ATC and Card - Visible Image ATC Swap September 2023
Artist Trading Card Tutorial
‘Rusty’ is September’s ATC swap challenge over on the Visible Image Facebook group. For this month I had a little steampunk inspiration so dug out the ‘One Kind Word’ stamp set. I love the vintage feel of this typewriter and just perfect to go with a rusty background! I teamed up this stamp set with the ‘A to Z’ stencil, the sentiment & cogs from the ‘Somewhere in Time’ set, and the script stamp from the ‘Sketched Tulips’ stamp set.
To begin with I sprayed an ATC sized piece of white with ‘Spiced Marmalade’, ‘Crackling Campfire’, ‘Rusty Hinge’ distress spray stain. ‘Gathered Twigs’ distress oxide spray was added over the top alongside a few drops of ‘Salvaged Patina’ distress oxide spray. Some water drops were then splattered over the top. The ‘A to Z’ stencil was then placed over background before ‘Rusty Hinge’ distress ink was brushed through it. The cogs from the ‘Somewhere in Time’ set were then stamped around the edge of the ATC in Versafine Clair ‘Pinecone’ brown ink. The whole ATC was then covered with distress micro glaze.
The sentiment from the ‘Somewhere in Time’ set was then stamped onto a spare piece of ink coloured card that matched the ATC background and fussy cut out. The heart and typewriter from the ‘One Kind Word’ set was then stamped onto a piece of white card using Versafine Clair ‘Pinecone’ brown ink and heat embossed with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder and fussy cut out. The script stamp from ‘Sketched Tulips’ was then stamped onto the typewriter in the same brown ink before a heart was added and placed onto the ATC using 3D mounts alongside some black embroidery thread.
Finally, some small black gems were glued onto the ATC. What a great start to my autumn crafting.

Finally, the background was added to some black card and a white card blank. All the elements were then added to the card background and some black embroidery thread and gems added for added texture. What a great start to my autumn crafting.
