Little Ladybirds

The weather is typically British at the moment and I’ve not seen many ladybirds around at all. So I just had to choose the ‘Little Ladybirds’ set from Visible Image for one of my latest creations. I’ve teamed these beautiful insects with ‘Transmission Glitch’, ‘Sketched Tulips’ and the ‘Daisy Daisy’ and ‘Two Tone’ stencils.

For the background I dipped a piece of white card into ‘Scattered Straw’ and ‘Saltwater Taffy’ distress oxides that had been sprayed with water. Once dried, I blended ‘Kitsch Flamingo’ and ‘Saltwater Taffy’ distress ink through the ‘Daisy Daisy’ stencil. The squares from the ‘Transmission Glitch’ stamp set were then stamped using ‘Scattered Straw’ and ‘Saltwater Taffy’ distress oxide. I then chose to use the script from the ‘Sketch Tulips’ stamp set to add onto the background using ‘Saltwater Taffy’ distress ink.

Next, all the elements from the ‘Little Ladybirds’ set were stamped onto the background using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink and heat embossed with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. I then stamped another set of ladybirds onto a separate piece of white card and coloured these in with Zig color clean brushes before fussy cutting out and adding to the background with 3D mounts. Some Distress opaque grit paste was then smoothed through the ‘Two Tone’ stencil in various places on the card.

Finally, the background was put onto black card and a white card blank before some Wink of Stella glitter pen and some water droplet gems were added. A summery little card to brighten someone’s day I hope you agree?
