Sunflower Bee Grunge

The school holidays are rushing by and I’m really not ready for Autumn to come calling just yet. So, here’s a bright and cheery recent birthday card make using the ‘Sunflower Grunge’ stamp set from Visible Image. I’ve teamed it up with the ‘Spring Awakening’ stamp set, ‘Bee Happy’ stamp set and dies alongside the ‘Scribble’ stencil.

For the background I sprayed a piece of white card with ‘Kitsch Flamingo’ and ‘Picked Raspberry’ distress spray stains. Once dried, I blended ‘Picket Fence’ distress ink through the ‘Scribble’ stencil. The words and one of the elements from the ‘Spring Awakening’ stamp set were then stamped onto the background using Versafine Clair ‘Charming Pink’ ink (2nd generation).

Next up, the main sunflower from the ‘Sunflower Grunge’ set was stamped onto the card using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink and heat embossed with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. I then stamped the sunflowers onto a separate piece of white card, heat embossed the same way and coloured them in with Zig color clean brushes. These were then fussy cut out and added to the background. Some splatters from the same set were then placed onto the background using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ ink before the sentiment was stamped onto a small piece of white card. This was then edged with ‘Picked Raspberry’ distress ink and mounted onto black card.

Finally, the background was put onto black card and a white card blank before the sentiment and die cut bees from my crafty stash were added alongside some sparkle from a Wink of Stella glitter pen and some gems.
