Bee Happy

The bees are certainly buzzing about the garden now that summer is here. I’m loving the new ‘Bee Happy’ die set from Visible Image. If, like me, you’re not confident with fussy cutting then these are definitely a must have. For this make I’ve teamed up the ‘Bee Happy’ stamp set (& dies) with ‘Sunflower Grunge’ and the ‘Honeycomb Hex’ stencil.

To begin with I took a white piece of card and sprayed it with ‘Squeezed Lemonade’, ‘Dried Marigold’ and ‘Spiced Marmalade distress ink. Once dried, I placed the ‘Honeycomb Hex’ stencil over the background and brushed ‘Wild Honey’ distress ink through it. The Sunflower grunge main flower was then stamped using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink before being embossed with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. Other elements from the ‘Bee Happy’ set were then stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with Wow metallic rick gold superfine embossing powder.

On a separate piece of card I stamped all the bees from the ‘Bee Happy’ stamp set and the sunflowers from the ‘Sunflower Grunge’ set. The bees were die cut out and coloured in using Zig clean color brushes. The sunflowers were coloured in using ‘Squeezed Lemonade’ and ‘Spiced Marmalade’ distress inks before being fussy cut out.

Finally, the sentiment from the ‘Bee Happy’ set was stamped using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ onto the background. All the elements were then adhered using acrylic glue or 3D mounts. Some small water droplet gems finished the look before the background was layered onto black card and a white card blank. A lovely and summery card I hope you agree?
