Noted & Counting Moments

 

There’s some really exciting things happening this month at Visible Image. Mark has released a fabulous new stamps and stencils collection called ‘Time To Fly’. He was on Hobbymaker TV yesterday – watch on catch-up if you’ve missed his 2 amazing shows. We also have a new DT teamie - Chiara - who will be wowing you all with lots of creatively brilliant reels.

I think ‘Noted’ has to be my favourite stencil from the new range (am I allowed a favourite??). For my 3rd sample I’ve also used the ‘Counting Moments’ and ‘Present Times’ stamp sets from the previous release.

I don’t often start creating with ink blending so this was a nice change. Up first, I took a piece of white card and laid the ‘Noted’ stencil over the top and blended ‘Tea Dye’ and ‘Vintage Photo’ around the edge of the stencil. I then blended ‘Faded Jeans’ ink through the scripted elements of the stencil. Some sparkle distress texture paste was blended through the stencil before leaving it to dry.

On another piece of white card I stamped out a few of the butterflies and the main focal clock image using Versafine Clair ‘Twilight’ navy blue ink before being heat embossed with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder and fussy cut out. These were coloured in using ‘Faded Jeans’ and ‘Chipped Sapphire’ distress ink.

The sentiments from the ‘Present Times’ stamp set were then stamped in the same ‘Twilight’ blue ink and heat embossed in the same way before being fussy cut out and mounted onto black card. Some additional shading was given to the background with some ‘Vintage Photo’ distress ink.

Finally, the background was mounted onto some black card and a white card blank. The elements were layered onto the card using 3D mounts and acrylic glue before the sentiments and some sparkly gems were added for interest.

I love the quirky edging to this stencil and I can see it becoming a well-used favourite over the coming months.

Top Tip: Add colour to your texture pastes by using distress re-inkers and smooth your new paste through the stencil.
