Fly High & Colourblind Card

 

Have you seen the recent Visible Image ‘Love of Nature’ release? For my next sample I’m sharing a card made with the brand new ‘Fly High’ stamp set and ‘Colourblind’ stencil. The new collection is all available from Visible Image.

To begin, I took a piece of white card and sprayed it with ’Squeezed Lemonade’, ‘Twisted Citron’ and ‘Tumbled Glass’ distress spray stain. A few water splatters adding a little interest to the background before some additional stamping from the ‘Fly High’ stamp set using Versafine Clair ‘Arctic’ blue ink.

Before the stencilling I brushed the surface of the background with Distress micro glaze. This helps to seal the colours of the card to help prevent bleeding into the texture paste.

Up next, the ‘Colourblind’ stencil was placed over the top of the background and Distress opaque grit paste smoothed through it before leaving to dry.

The butterflies from the ‘Fly High’ stamp set were stamped onto another piece of white card using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink before being heat embossed with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. These were fussy cut out before some ‘Picked Raspberry’ and ‘Carved Pumpkin’ distress ink were blended over them. I then stamped two of the words from the ‘Fly High’ set onto the wings of the butterfly using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink.

The ‘Fly High’ sentiment from the same stamp set were stamped onto a piece of black card using Versamark and heat embossed with Wow superfine opaque bright white embossing powder before being fussy cut out.

Finally, the butterflies and sentiment were added to the card using 3D mounts and acrylic glue. Some Posca white paint splats, ‘Tumbled Glass’ distress spritz spray and sparkly gems gave a final touch of glitz to the card.
