Dare to Swim

 

Summer is on the horizon and it’ll soon be time to pack the suitcase and head off to sunnier shores. This week for our DT makes we’re being inspired by beach/sea themes, so for my clean and simple make I’ve chosen to use the ‘Dare to Swim’ stamp set. It’s one of the Visible Image older stamp collections but it’s still one of my favourites.

Stepped Instructions:

1) Dare to Swim: Stamp the Jellyfish onto a DL sized card using Versamark. Heat emboss with Wow superfine metallic silver embossing powder. Follow this with the fish stamped in Versafine Clair ‘Hawthorn’ ink and the seaweed stamped in Versafine Clair ‘Arctic’ ink. Heat emboss both elements with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder.

2) Watercolours: Using the Visible Image Chameleon watercolours add a wash over the top of the stamping using blue/green tones with a waterbrush. Once dried add a few of the bubble stamps using Versamark and heat emboss with Wow bright white embossing powder.

3) Sentiment: Stamp the sentiment onto the background using Versafine Clair ‘Morning Mist’ grey ink and heat emboss with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder.

4) Completion: Finally, trim and layer the background onto a white DL card blank using acrylic glue before adding a few water droplet gems to finish off the card.

I really enjoyed making this card. It’s perfect for a casual greeting to a friend this summer.
