'Portrait' or 'Landscape' - Visible Image April ATC Swap

ATC

‘Portrait or Landscape’ was the theme for the April 2025 ATC swap over on the Visible Image Facebook page. For my ATC I chose to use the ‘Dragonfly Dreams’ stamp set and to do a ‘Landscape’ ATC as I always tend to go for a ‘Portrait’ design.

To begin, I took an ATC sized piece of white card and blended ‘Peacock Feathers’ and ‘Chipped Sapphire’ distress inks over the surface before splattering a lot of water droplets over the top. The stamp set was then stamped onto the ATC using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink before heat embossing with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. Some white Posca Paint splatters and ‘Tumbled Glass’ distress spritz spray finished off the ATC background.

Up next I stamped the sentiment and another dragonfly onto a separate piece of white card using the same method. The wings of the dragonfly were coloured in using Visible Image Chameleon watercolours before being fussy cut out.

Finally, the dragonfly and sentiment were stuck to the ATC using 3D mounts. Some embroidery thread and sparkly gems were also added for interest. I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge this month. Thanks Jane Tyrrell for another brilliant ATC swap and I can’t wait till the next one.

Card

What glorious weather we’re having in the UK at the moment. A burst of sunshine really does bring out all the amazing wildlife. So I’ve returned to my favourite dragonfly stamp set for the card that I sent alongside the ATC for April’s Visible Image Facebook Group swap.

To begin, I took a piece of white card and sprayed it with ‘Tumbled Glass’ and ‘Salvaged Patina’ distress spray stains. The main dragonfly image from the ‘Dragonfly Reflections’ stamp set was stamped into the middle of the card using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink before heat embossing with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. A duplicate copy of the dragonfly was stamped onto another piece of white card and the wings coloured with Visible Image metallic Chameleon watercolour paints.

More detail was added to the background using the elements from the same stamp set and inking these up with either Versafine Clair ‘Arctic’ blue ink or ‘Chipped Sapphire’ distress ink. A splattering of white Posca paint and distress spritz spray in ‘Tumbled Glass’ followed.

The sentiment from the ‘Dragonfly Dreams’ stamp set was then stamped onto the background in the same way as the original dragonfly.

Finally, the card was mounted onto a black card blank. Some sparkly gems were also added for interest. I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge this month. Thanks Jane Tyrrell for another brilliant ATC swap and I can’t wait till the next one.
