New Year Celebration

 

Party season has arrived so it’s time to dig out everything in my craft stash that sparkles and glistens. For my DT make this week I’ve made a New Year celebration card using the ‘No Filter’, ‘Background Vision’ and ‘Best Birthday Ever’ stamp sets alongside the ‘Seeing Stars’ and ‘Strobes’ stencil - all available from Visible Image. For a change I’ve focused on using embossing powders for this black and gold creation rather than lots of coloured inks.

To begin I took a piece of black card and stamped the main image from the ‘No Filter’ stamp set onto the edge of the card using Versamark and heat embossed with Wow superfine metallic gold rich embossing powder. 

I then added some additional interest to the image using one of the elements from the ‘Background Vision’ stamp set which was stamped and heat embossed in the same way.

Up next, I brushed some ‘Picket Fence’ distress ink through the ‘Strobes’ stencil before edging the card in the same ink. 

The ‘Seeing Stars’ stencil was placed over the top and some Versamark ink blended through it. The stencil was then removed before heat embossing some Wow superfine metallic gold rich embossing powder. This was repeated with another element from the ‘Background Vision’ stamp set. 

Some Posca white acrylic paint pen was then splattered over the top of the image before the background was layered onto some white and gold card.

The sentiment was taken from the ‘Best Birthday Ever’ stamp set and stamped using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink onto white card before being heat embossed using Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. After fussy cutting out the sentiment was layered onto some black and gold card and adhered to the background using 3D glue. At this point I felt the background needed something else so I stamped ‘party’ from the ‘Best Birthday Ever’ stamp set onto the background using Brilliance Gold archival ink and Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink’.

Finally, the background was mounted onto a white card blank. The sentiment was added using 3D glue before additional stars and gems were added. A perfect celebratory card to celebrate the coming New Year I hope you agree.
