Better with Ice Cream

Summer crafting is always great fun… until it gets too hot!! So, for my DT make this week I’m cooling things down with a faux ‘salted caramel chocolate ice-cream’ using the ‘Better with Ice Cream’ stamp set from Visible Image!! I’ve also used the new ‘Sketched Backgrounds’ to add some interest to this circular easel card. Read on for a little tutorial about how I made it.

To begin, I sprayed a circular die cut piece of white card with ‘Tumbled Glass’, ‘Salvaged Patina’, ‘Peacock Feathers’ and ‘Blueprint Sketch’ distress spray stain. I then splattered this with some water droplets before edging the card with ‘Peacock Feathers’ distress ink.

Up next, the ‘Sketched Backgrounds’ stamps were added to the background using Versamark embossing ink and heat embossed with Wow superfine opaque bright white embossing powder. It really gives off some swimming pool vibes!

On a separate piece of card I then stamped the ice-cream and sentiment from the ‘Better with Ice Cream’ stamp set using the new Versafine Clair ‘Sand Dune’ and ‘Portobello’ inks. These were then heat embossed with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder before being fussy cut out. The sentiment was then added to some gold pearlised card.

To create the circular easel card I die cut 2 large circles from some ivory linen card before cutting a smaller circle from gold pearlised card. A line was scored on one piece of ivory card and this was then glued to the other circle to create the easel effect.

Finally, the background was added to the card before the ice cream and sentiment were put in position using 3D mounts. Ranger glossy accents, some wink of stella glitter pen and small sparkly sequins/gems finished the look. Time now to go and chill with a real ice cream!!
