Life is Beautiful

Hummingbirds are such beautiful creatures and I love how this splendour is captured in the ‘Life is Beautiful’ stamp set from Visible Image. For this make I’ve used this fabulous stamp set alongside the ‘Flower Ink’ stencil.

To begin with I sprayed a piece of white card with water, ‘Kitsch Flamingo’ and ‘Picked Raspberry’ distress spray stains. I then dipped the card back into any ink that remained on my craft mat before drying with a heat gun. The ‘Flower Ink’ stencil was then placed over the top and ‘Picked Raspberry’ distress ink brushed through it, leaving a lighter space in the middle of the flower to add more detail later on.

The main ‘Life is Beautiful’ hummingbird image was then stamped onto the card with Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink and heat embossed with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. The other element in the stamp set was then stamped around the edge of the background using Versamark and Wow Disco Ball as well as Wow superfine opaque bright white embossing powder. I then added the mask over the top of the ‘Flower Ink’ stencil and added some pink and white highlights.

On a separate piece of card I re-stamped the main hummingbird image with Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink before heat embossing with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. This was then fussy cut out and coloured in using watercolour pencils. The sentiment was stamped in the same way and fussy cut out.

Finally, the elements and a few water droplet gems were added to the main card with some acrylic glue or 3D mounts. The background was then put onto black card and a white card blank. I really enjoyed this make and feel it would make a perfect summery card for any friend.
