Create Your Own Happiness

There’s something about a Gerbera flower that I just love. They come in so many bright colours that would cheer up anyone’s day. As such, I’m loving the new ‘Create Happiness’ stamp and die sets from Visible Image. For this make I’ve also teamed it up with the brand new ‘Curves’ stencil.

I love a pink background to a card, so this time I went all out on a splattered look using ‘Spun Sugar’, ‘Kitsch Flamingo’ and ‘Picked Raspberry’ distress spray stains. I then took the ‘Curves’ stencil and randomly placed this over the background and brushed ‘Kitsch Flamingo’ distress oxide through it. I then chose to stamp the flower and words from the ‘Create Happiness’ set onto the card using ‘Picked Raspberry’ distress ink. The main gerbera was then stamped onto the middle of the background in Versafine Clair ‘Morning Mist’ grey ink before being heat embossed with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. Some distress micro glaze was then brushed over the top to really bring out the colours in the background.

On a new piece of card, I stamped the main gerbera from the same set in the same grey ink and heat embossed them with the same embossing powder. This was repeated for the inner part of the flower. These were then die cut out and coloured in using Koi brush pens. The whole flowers were then covered in Versamark before being heat embossed with Wow Disco Ball embossing powder. Some holographic glitter was added to the centre of the gerbera.

On another piece of white card I stamped the sentiment using the same grey ink and heat embossed using the same gloss embossing powder. The sentiment was then edged with ‘Salvaged Patina’ distress ink and mounted onto a small piece of black card.

Finally, the background was mounted onto black card and a white card blank. All the elements were added using 3D mounts and a few glittery gems were added for further interest. A delightful friendship card to inspire those closest friends this Spring.
